We would like to set a moment aside to thank the many wonderful people who have supported Saint Andre Home throughout the years and continue to be there for the young women and their children who seek our help.
We could fill an entire website acknowledging the work and compassion of the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec who founded Saint Andre Home, the diligence of our Board of Directors who guide Saint Andre Home, and our benefactors and volunteers whose generosity has made so much possible.
We will continue to meet the needs of the community with programs for women and children. But the number of people we can help largely depends on resources available to us.
Your tax- deductible dollars go directly to the services and programs that benefit Maine women and children.

We asked the young women we serve to give a truthful testimony about life at Saint Andre's.
Here are some excerpts from their letters:
"I'm due in 12 days and my son is coming home with me. That wouldn't have been reality if I wasn't here."
"No matter what you decide to do with your stay here, whether it be adoption or regaining custody, you will have an awesome support system."
"The staff has helped me learn skills and lessons that I can take with me for the rest of my life."
"Every day is a challenge for me, because I am not used to having a lot of things this program offers, for example; structure, stability, consistency and independence."
"I now am a mother of two with my GED and more strength and courage than ever."
"The parenting program has taught me how to interact with my son at each of his stages of mental development and to focus on his needs and wants."
"My satisfaction as a mother has skyrocketed. I feel like I am everything I am capable of being as a parent."
If you know of a young woman who might benefit from these and other letters, they can be found on the Letters page. |
A Personal Note
Rising costs coupled with government program cuts has made your private contributions even more vital to our efforts. Over the years, you have given us the freedom to adapt, expand and make a difference.
You've shared our struggles and triumphs, and above all, you've shared our care and concern for the young women and children who come to us for help.
Thank you for continuing to make so much possible! |
