What Saint Andre Home Offers
Since 1940, Saint Andre Home's mission has been to serve women and children in need and to strengthen family life by promoting the dignity of each person who comes to us. Over the years, we have seen over 1,600 children received into stable, loving families.
We are licensed social workers with advanced degrees because it is necessary in our field of work. We're a dedicated team of caring professionals because we believe that our work makes a difference in the lives of Maine families.
-
By making the loving choice to give life to your child, you’ve become a mother. Choosing to enrich the life of a family by giving them an opportunity to have a child is a wonderful act of hope and kindness.
We're here to support you in that decision and to help you make plans for both you and your baby. We'll give you the support and encouragement you need to make the decisions that will bring you contentment and peace.
-
Making the decision to adopt a child is a loving act. You enter into it with all of the wonder (and worries) of expectant parents. Although you don’t go through traditional labor, there is work involved. That's where our services come in. We guide you throughout the adoption process to make sure every step is completed properly and in a timely manner. After the baby’s homecoming, our services continue to meet the needs of your new family.
-
People who were adopted through the agency, or who placed children with families, often contact Saint Andre Home for updated social histories, letters, gifts, pictures, medical information, or mutually agreed upon reunions. Saint Andre Home assists adoptive parents, birthparents, and adult adoptees seeking such services.
Please note: New law regarding adult adopted persons (Public Law 409)
