Welcome,
As Director of Quality and Training for Saint Andre Home, I’m happy to present a brief overview of our group homes.
Parenting takes a lifetime to learn and can be challenging even in the best of circumstances. Sometimes, a mother knows that she needs parenting support in order to get back on her feet and seek us out on her own. Other times, she is referred by an agency after her child has been removed from her custody. In either case, our goal is to help her get back on track both as a parent and as an individual.
Saint Andre's offers a home-like atmosphere for mother and child. Our residences in Lewiston (including Mary's Place), Bangor, and Biddeford make it easier to provide a place as close to their community as possible.
These four and five bedroom homes allow for private rooms for mothers and children up to age three. Our Biddeford residence also welcomes pregnant young women and assists them with pre-natal care, finding a doctor and supports the mother and child after delivery.
While you are with us, you will be given the help you need to work part time, explore day care options for your child, continue your schooling, or pursue a career. We provide essential training such as life skills, goal setting, and parenting. Our experienced staff is available around the clock for guidance and support.

When you are ready to leave with your child, we help you carry out your plans for living arrangements and available community programs if desired. We work in partnership with you so that when you leave our program, you will feel ready and confident to parent your child on your own. Even after you start your new life, we’re always here if you want to talk or visit.
I hope I’ve given you some insight to Saint Andre’s group homes. I invite you to visit the pages that follow for a brief tour of our homes and a personal message from the professional women who run them. I also encourage you to read the letters written by our resident mothers sharing their thoughts and experiences with you.
If you would like more information, you can contact me by calling (207) 282-3351 or by emailing one of the group homes on the Contacts and Information page.
In the meantime, I offer you an ancient greeting that is as rich in culture as it is in meaning, “Be well.”
