Listening, Learning, and Planning

In the fall of 2025, Saint Andre Home assumed stewardship of Esther Residence, honoring a long shared history of service rooted in compassion, dignity, and care for women and their families navigating transition and healing. This stewardship has been guided by deep respect for Esther's legacy and its longstanding place in the Saco community.

As we move forward, Saint Andre Home continues to take a careful and intentional approach to stewarding Esther Residence. Our current focus is on continuity of the mission and a thoughtful assessment. This includes:

• Reviewing existing program frameworks

• Listening to trusted community partners

• Engaging in planning that aligns with Esther’s original purpose of support and stability for women rebuilding their lives

• Continuing the dynamic support the Founding Sisters of Esther Residence have provided to community members for the past two decades.

Alongside this work, we are conducting behind-the-scenes operational and infrastructure reviews to responsibly care for the building. This allows us to understand what has been entrusted to us and to plan carefully for what comes next.

We are grateful for the continued interest and care shown by donors, neighbors, and longtime supporters of Esther Residence. As this assessment period continues, we will share updates as we progress.
